On May 18, 1944, about 200,000 Crimean Tatars were forcibly deported from Crimea. This tragic date was engraved in the heart of every Ukrainian citizen. The deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 by the Stalin’s regime is a crime of genocide.
Today the world commemorates the victims of this crime – Deportation of Crimean Tatar People in 1944 #RememberGenocideMay18 #NeverForget.
The criminal approaches introduced by the Stalin’s regime against the Crimean Tatar population of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea are still actively used by the Russian Federation as an aggressor state.
Since the unfolding of Russian aggression against Ukraine in Crimea in 2014 more than 43 000 people left Crimea over intimidation, persecution and fears of the return of the past in its worst manifestations. The second, now hybrid, deportation of Crimean Tatars took place.
We want our Crimean Tatar brothers and sisters to know that we remember this tragedy and we will not abandon our fight for the de-occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea #CrimeaIsUkraine. We would like to invite you to watch the following movies about the tragic history of the Crimean Tatars
