Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

“On the tragic death of people in the consequence of the terrorist act over the territory of Ukraine”

On July 17, 2014 over the territory of Ukraine in the district of the town of Torez of the Donetsk region the passenger airplane Boeing-777 of the Malaysian air company on board of which there were nearly 300 passengers was shot down. According to the present data of the competent authorities of Ukraine this terrorist act was committed by the hitmen who conduct military actions against Ukraine on the territory of the Donetsk region with use of supplied by the Russian Federation anti-missile system “BUK” which was serviced by the Russian military men. As a consequence of this barbaric act all people on board of the plane died. The act was possible due to the support of the hitmen on the side of the present leadership of the Russian Federation, providing them with the modern military machinery and weapons, including the missile complexes for engaging air targets.

Such actions and irresponsible policy of the Russian power which are directed against Ukraine in fact provoke the acts of the international terrorism, in the result of which not only citizens of Ukraine, but also the citizens of other states die.

Illegal supply by the power of the Russia Federation of weapons to the territory of Ukraine, sending Russian mercenaries and military men of the armed Forces of the Russian Federation for the participation in the warfare against Ukraine are acts of the military aggression against Ukraine which have all features on the international terrorist activity, impersonated in such organizations as Al-Kaida and others. The so called self-declared organizations – Donetsk people’s republic and Lugansk people’s republic also came to this way.

Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine already became a threat to the life and security not only of the Ukrainian, but also foreign citizens and acquire real threat to the whole world order.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expresses sincere condolences to the families and relatives of all perished in the consequence of this terrorist act.

Condemning the aggressive policy of the Russian power against Ukraine the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine addresses international and European organizations, leaders of the countries of the world with the suggestion:

to take all necessary measures for investigation of the circumstances of the tragedy;

to establish and bring to the responsibility those guilty in committing the terrorist act;

to recognize the self-declared organizations Donetsk people’s republic and Lugansk people’s republic as terrorist organizations;

to take joint measures with Ukraine, including those in the military and technical sphere, directed on termination of activity of the terrorist groups, which conduct hostilities against Ukraine and are the threat to peace and stability in the world.
