On July 17, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia, Maksym Kononenko, participated in a press conference dedicated to the aftermath of the missile strike on July 8, 2024, by russia on the Kyiv children's hospital "Okhmatdyt" and the organization of assistance for this hospital.
The press conference also included participation from Kostiantyn Rebrov, Chairman of the Board of Tallinn Children's Hospital, Janek Mäggi, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Tallinn Children's Hospital Support Foundation, Inna Kramer, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation, Inna Karaulshchykova, Head of the NGO "Leleka," and Karl Sander Kase, Deputy Mayor of Tallinn.
The event was dedicated to the launch of the assistance collection for the "Okhmatdyt" hospital, organized by the Tallinn Children's Hospital and the Tallinn Children's Hospital Support Foundation, with the support of the NGO "Leleka" and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Estonia.
During his speech, Ambassador Maksym Kononenko stated: "As a result of the russian attack on Kyiv on this day, 33 people were killed, including 5 children. But if we do nothing now to help this hospital resume its operations, we will count many more deaths due to the aftermath of the missile strike. If we do not restore this facility and equip it with new equipment, our losses will be much greater."
Ambassador Maksym Kononenko thanked the Tallinn Children's Hospital, the Tallinn Children's Hospital Support Foundation, and the NGO "Leleka" for their assistance in organizing the aid for the children's hospital "Okhmatdyt."
