On 16 April, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia, Volodymyr Boiechko, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia), Marko Mihkelson.
The parties exchanged views on shared challenges faced by Ukraine and Estonia, as well as other states, in the context of Russia’s ongoing full-scale aggression against Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East.
The parties also discussed possible intentions of the United States to review its role within NATO, as well as the potential development of alternative defence frameworks, including with the participation of Ukraine.
Marko Mihkelson emphasized the importance of maintaining allied unity, strengthening European and Euro-Atlantic solidarity, and underlined the need to further increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, particularly in light of growing threats and provocations by Russia against NATO member states.
