On 17 August 2026, Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko met with Kaimo Kuusk, Permanent Secretary of the Estonian Ministry of Defence.
Volodymyr Boiechko briefed his counterpart on Russia’s latest massive missile attacks against Ukraine. In this context, the parties discussed possible ways to strengthen the protection of Ukraine’s airspace.
The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Estonia for its consistent and substantial support for Ukraine and for the military assistance provided to our country, and stressed the importance of its continuation in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression.
The parties paid particular attention to current issues of Ukrainian-Estonian defence cooperation and promising areas for its further development, the implementation of the Drone Deal signed in July 2026, as well as cooperation between Ukraine and Estonia within regional defence formats.
Volodymyr Boiechko and Kaimo Kuusk reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the Ukrainian-Estonian defence partnership and maintaining an active dialogue.
