On 1 October, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko held a meeting with Director General of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross Mr. Maksym Dotsenko, Head of the Department for Strategic Partnerships and International Relations of the Ukrainian Red Cross Ms. Iryna Boicheva, and Deputy Secretary General for Emergency Management of the Estonian Red Cross Mr. Kirill Badikin.
The representatives of the Red Cross of Ukraine and Estonia provided a detailed overview of the organisations’ activities in Ukraine and Estonia, respectively.
Mr. Kirill Badikin informed about a range of assistance programmes implemented by the Estonian Red Cross for citizens of Ukraine who, due to the full-scale war unleashed by Russia, were forced to leave their homeland and have found temporary refuge in Estonia.
For his part, Ambassador Volodymyr Boiechko expressed gratitude for the support provided to Ukrainians and proposed, in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia, to implement a number of humanitarian projects. These include organising rest and rehabilitation programmes for children whose parents have fallen at the front, are missing in action, or are currently defending Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity on the front line.
