On 22 September 2025, Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko met with Lauri Hussar, President of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia).
Volodymyr Boiechko congratulated the Speaker of Parliament on Estonia’s Resistance Day, noting the symbolism of holding the meeting on this important day for the Estonian people. The Ambassador also expressed gratitude to the Estonian side for its comprehensive assistance to Ukraine, in particular for providing military, financial, and humanitarian support in the context of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression against our state.
During the meeting, Lauri Hussar emphasized that Estonia’s unwavering priorities remain consistent political, security, and financial support for Ukraine, as well as promoting Ukraine’s swift accession to the European Union and further progress towards full NATO membership.
The discussion focused on the recent blatant violation of Estonia’s airspace by the Russian Federation. It was noted that such provocations are part of a deliberate effort to destabilize international security. In this context, the Ambassador informed about Ukraine’s support for Estonia’s initiative to convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.
Special attention was given to interparliamentary cooperation. The parties discussed ways to intensify the work of the Ukraine–Estonia Parliamentary Friendship Group and emphasized the importance of strengthening contacts between relevant committees and parliamentary associations.
The President of the Riigikogu reaffirmed Estonia’s unwavering position on the unconditional support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its determination to maintain a leading role in international efforts in support of our state.
