On 11 May, Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko took part in the visit of a delegation of representatives of Ukrainian local self-government authorities and businesses organised by the Ukrainian Mayors’ Club.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Association of Estonian Cities and Municipalities, during which the Ambassador thanked the Estonian side for its consistent and comprehensive support for Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing full-scale war against Ukraine.
The Estonian side provided detailed information on the legislative and practical aspects of the functioning of local self-government in the country. The parties also exchanged views on expanding intermunicipal cooperation and further developing sister-city partnerships between Ukrainian and Estonian cities and communities.
A meeting was also held at the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Estonian side presented key areas for potential economic cooperation, opportunities within the Estonian market, and available instruments to support international partnerships.
During the event, representatives of the Ukrainian delegation presented their initiatives and projects and expressed interest in establishing new trade and economic ties with Estonian partners.
The participants exchanged views on strengthening business contacts, implementing joint projects, and attracting Estonian expertise and investment to support Ukraine’s economic resilience and recovery. For their part, the Ukrainian communities expressed their readiness to share their experience in crisis management under the conditions of Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
