On 24 August, on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day, a solemn ceremony of raising the National Flag of Ukraine was held, in keeping with an established tradition, in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, with the participation of Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna.

The ceremony was also attended by Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Ukraine in Estonia Inna Shcherban, Estonian ambassadors serving abroad, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Tallinn, and members of the Ukrainian community.

In his remarks, Margus Tsahkna reaffirmed Estonia’s unwavering support for Ukraine across all areas and stressed that Estonia would continue to advance Ukraine’s path towards Euro-Atlantic integration and contribute to building a resilient and democratic Ukraine.

Inna Shcherban expressed gratitude to Estonia for its comprehensive support for Ukraine — political, military, humanitarian and diplomatic. Special words of appreciation were addressed to Estonia’s diplomatic service and Estonian diplomats around the world, who consistently advocate for support for Ukraine, help mobilise international support, and work to ensure that Ukraine remains among the key priorities on the international agenda.
