Please accept our heartfelt congratulations on the Independence Day of the Republic of Estonia - a celebration of courage, dignity, and an unwavering belief in your sovereign state.

February 24 stands as a symbol of the strength of the Estonian people, who fought for and steadfastly defended their right to freedom. Today, together with you, we honor all those who devoted their lives to the struggle for Estonia’s independence, the preservation of its statehood, and the consolidation of its European future.

This date is also forever linked to tragic events for Ukraine - the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression. From the very first days of the war, Estonia demonstrated a principled stance and genuine solidarity with Ukraine - across the military, economic, and humanitarian spheres.

Estonia’s voice continues to resonate clearly and consistently in support of Ukraine within European and Euro-Atlantic institutions, thereby strengthening the shared security of our region.

We particularly value Estonia’s active role in the reconstruction of the affected regions, including the Zhytomyr Oblast, as well as its support for Ukrainian citizens who have found safe refuge, warmth, and sincere understanding in Estonia. This assistance is a testament not only to strong intergovernmental cooperation, but also to the profound human solidarity between our two nations.

Today, Ukraine and Estonia are united by a shared understanding: freedom is never a given - it must be defended every single day. Together, we affirm that international law, democratic values, and respect for the sovereignty of states must remain the unshakable foundation of the European order.

We are confident that the further strengthening of the Ukrainian-Estonian partnership, our mutual support, and the unity of the democratic world will serve as a guarantee of a just peace and lasting stability in Europe.
