Today, as Ukraine celebrates Constitution Day, we honor the foundation of our statehood, democracy, and the rights and freedoms of every citizen.
Our Constitution is the result of the struggle and aspirations of many generations who devoted their lives to building a strong and sovereign Ukraine, an integral part of the European family. It guarantees that even in the toughest times, we uphold our core values and principles.
Adopted in 1996, our Constitution is not the first in Ukraine’s history. The Constitution of the Ukrainian People’s Republic was adopted by the Central Rada on April 29, 1918 – the very last day of its existence.
Today, by defending our Constitution, we protect the future of our children, our families, and the entire nation.
On this important day, we call on the international community to stand with Ukraine in supporting these fundamental pillars of freedom, justice, and sovereignty
