On October 24, 2024, representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia participated in the first seminar of the ROSE-Estonia project titled "How to Start a Business in Estonia?" The event took place in the Kadaka conference hall in Tallinn. Organized with the support of EVEA, the seminar brought together Ukrainians eager to start their own businesses in Estonia and was filled with valuable information for business beginners.
The seminar was opened by EVEA Vice President Marina Kaas, who introduced the organization and the ROSE-Estonia project. Participants also heard from Vira Konyk from the Congress of Ukrainians in Estonia, Kateryna Levkovska from the Ukrainian Business Club Estonia, and Maksym Kuviklin, the First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia.
The program included comprehensive support for Ukrainian entrepreneurs on key business aspects:
Readiness to Start a Business: Under the guidance of coach Siiri Sänn, participants learned how to assess their readiness for entrepreneurship.
Support for Beginners: Elena Kofal from the Tallinn Entrepreneurship Center presented services available to new entrepreneurs.
Legal Issues: Kai Amos from the Estonian Lawyers' Union familiarized participants with the legal aspects of running a business.
Accounting: Maire Otsus-Karpenter from the Estonian Accountants' Union provided valuable information on the basics of accounting for small businesses.
Support from Töötuskassa: Kerli Kaljuvee discussed opportunities for additional training and support for entrepreneurs.
Practical Experience: Ukrainian entrepreneur Daria Salo shared her experiences of running a business in Estonia, and Asmund Prits from SMB Norge spoke about export opportunities to Norway.
Particular attention was drawn to Yelyzaveta Miroshnychenko, who presented support programs for small businesses available within the EU and Ukraine. The seminar concluded with a networking session and individual consultations, allowing participants to discuss their business ideas with experts.
The event, conducted with Ukrainian translation, marked an important step in supporting Ukrainians seeking to develop in the Estonian economic space. The Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia expresses gratitude to all partners and participants for their active involvement and support.
