On October 1, the presentation of the «Victory Towel» took place at Oleviste Church, dedicated to Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The event united people from different walks of life to pay tribute to the heroes who defend the freedom and independence of our country.

The church was adorned with the «Victory Towel», created from embroidered towels sent by Ukrainian women from Estonia, Latvia, Norway, Germany, Poland, Portugal, France, the Netherlands, Cyprus, and many other countries, as well as from Kropyvnytskyi, Kherson, and almost all regions of Ukraine. This towel symbolizes the unity of Ukrainians around the world and their shared struggle for freedom and victory.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia, Maksym Kononenko, the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia, George Kent, representatives of Ukrainian civil society organizations, the Ukrainian diaspora, as well as Estonian citizens who came to show their support for the Ukrainian people. Those present had the opportunity to join in a communal prayer and express their gratitude to our defenders, who are protecting Ukraine from Russian invaders.

In his speech, Ambassador of Ukraine Maksym Kononenko noted: "The 'Victory Towel' is not just a symbol. It is a thread that connects generations who have fought and are still fighting for Ukraine. It is a thread that unites the valiant warriors of Kyivan Rus, the Cossack knights of the Hetmanate and Zaporizhian Sich, the brave riflemen of the Ukrainian People's Republic, and the soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. Today, they are joined by the brave warriors of Ukraine's Defense Forces, who are the thin red line separating our Ukrainian world from the horrors of «русского мира»."
