2,000 Ukrainian children abducted by Russia have been brought to Ukraine under the President’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative
17 February 2026 20:18

2,000 Ukrainian children abducted by Russia — this is how many have been brought home since 2022 as part of the President of Ukraine’s @zelenskyy_official @bringkidsback_ua initiative.

This result is the outcome of the daily joint work of state institutions, civil society organizations, and a wide range of international partners. We are grateful to everyone whose efforts have helped protect the future of Ukrainian children and of Ukraine.

At the same time, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children still remain under Russia’s control, becoming victims every day of its crimes — deportation and forcible transfer, imposed hostile propaganda, forced militarization, as well as threats, interrogations, and torture.

Russia is trying to destroy our future and the future of the entire civilized world. That is why the return of every Ukrainian child must be a fundamental humanitarian and security priority not only for Ukraine, but for other countries as well.

Without the return of Ukrainian children, there can be no just and lasting peace.
