On November 21, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia, Maksym Kononenko, met with Ukrainian students studying at the Estonian School of Diplomacy.
Today, Ukraine marks the Day of Dignity and Freedom - a day when Ukrainians stood up to defend the principles of freedom and democracy, often at the cost of their own lives, during the Revolution of Dignity in 2014. The driving force behind this revolution was the youth, especially students, who were the first to take to Maidan, demonstrating unbreakable spirit, courage, and a determination for change.
During the meeting, it was revealed that one of the students, Iryna Tyshko, was a direct participant in the Revolution of Dignity. Together, they reflected on the events that took place at Maidan Nezalezhnosti in November 2014 - moments that changed the course of our country's history.
A deep sense of pride fills us for our youth, who understand the true cost of freedom, honor the memory of heroes, and continue to carry these principles in their lives. Ukrainian youth are a symbol of resilience, a source of hope for a brighter future, and a driving force for change that unites us today in the fight for freedom and independence.
The students shared what motivated them to continue their studies at the Estonian School of Diplomacy, as well as their goals, dreams, and vision for the future of Ukraine.
Ambassador Maksym Kononenko shared interesting stories from his diplomatic experience with the students, answered their questions, and promised to involve young people in projects implemented by the Embassy, supporting their initiative and aspiration for change.
