Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia M. Kononenko paid a regional visit to Viljandi on February 18, 2025, where he held a series of meetings with representatives of local businesses, including the management of VMT Tehased AS and Print Best OÜ. During these meetings, discussions focused on the prospects for economic cooperation between Ukraine and Estonia, opportunities for attracting Estonian investments, and the participation of Estonian businesses in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.
Ambassador of Ukraine M. Kononenko presented the investment opportunities in Ukraine to Estonian companies, highlighting the "Investment Nanny" program, which provides major investors with tax benefits, assistance in acquiring land, and infrastructure support. Special attention was given to Ukraine’s industrial parks, which offer extensive opportunities for manufacturing development and optimization of logistics chains.
Ambassador of Ukraine M. Kononenko also introduced the NAZOVNI platform – a government initiative designed to help foreign companies find reliable Ukrainian partners in IT, agribusiness, green energy, mechanical engineering, and other industries.
A key focus of the meetings was the involvement of Estonian companies in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction. Ambassador of Ukraine M. Kononenko emphasized that the Ukrainian market is open to foreign investors and technology partners willing to engage in infrastructure, construction, green energy, and high-tech manufacturing projects.
Ambassador of Ukraine M. Kononenko urged Estonian enterprises to take advantage of new business opportunities in Ukraine and support its economic recovery. The NAZOVNI platform, Ukraine’s industrial parks, and state investor support programs create favorable conditions for successful business operations and international partnership expansion.
VMT Tehased AS, a company specializing in the production of steel structures for construction, mechanical engineering, and industry, expressed interest in cooperation with Ukrainian manufacturers. Having previously collaborated with Ukrainian companies, the firm is open to exploring new opportunities for joint projects.
Print Best OÜ, one of the largest book manufacturers in the Baltic region, exporting 97% of its products, also showed interest in expanding cooperation with Ukraine. Given the dynamic growth of the Ukrainian publishing market following the discontinuation of Russian-language printing, there are significant prospects for joint projects in this sector.
