On October 30, 2023, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Maksym Kononenko met with the Vice-President of the Riigikogu of Estonia, Jüri Ratas, and the head of the Social Democratic Party Parliamentary Group in the Riigikogu of Estonia, Jevgeni Ossinovski.

 During the meeting, Ambassador Maksym Kononenko informed representatives of the Riigikogu about the situation in Ukraine in the context of the ongoing war of the Russian Federation against our state. The parties discussed the agenda of interparliamentary cooperation, Estonia's support for Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO, as well as the further provision of humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine. 

Ambassador Maksym Kononenko expressed gratitude to the Riigikogu for the consistent active support of Ukraine and the leadership role of Estonian parliamentarians in adopting important decisions in support of Ukraine in the fight against Russian military aggression, which is an example for the parliaments of other countries, in particular, the adoption of statements regarding the responsibility of the Russian Federation for the crime of aggression against Ukraine and in support of Ukraine's membership in NATO.

Ambassador of Ukraine expressed hope for the continuation of the fruitful Ukrainian-Estonian interparliamentary dialogue as an important component of the parliamentary dimension of international support for Ukraine to defeat the aggressor.
