On 9 September 2025, Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko held a meeting with Erika Ellamaa-Ots, Director General of the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador informed about the latest massive Russian attacks against Ukraine and emphasized the importance of coordinated steps to ensure accountability of the aggressor state and to further strengthen international pressure on Russia.
In this context, Volodymyr Boiechko expressed gratitude to Estonia for its comprehensive defence and other assistance to Ukraine, as well as for the readiness of the Estonian side to introduce new sanctions against Russia.
Special attention was given to the importance of the long-term nature of Estonia’s defence assistance to Ukraine, which is provided annually at the level of 0.25% of its GDP.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of Ukrainian-Estonian cooperation, prospects for deepening practical interaction in various areas of mutual interest, as well as the schedule of bilateral political contacts in the near future.
Particular attention was devoted to Estonia’s participation in international initiatives aimed at supporting Ukraine.
Volodymyr Boiechko also expressed appreciation for the participation of the First Lady of Estonia, Mrs Sirje Karis, in the upcoming Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen to be held in Kyiv on 10–11 September 2025.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening the partnership between Ukraine and Estonia.
