On 20 October 2025, Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko held a meeting with EstDev Executive Director Klen Jaarats and Head of Projects in Ukraine Margus Gering.
The discussion focused on Estonia’s continued engagement in the reconstruction of Zhytomyr region and on the coordination of humanitarian and development projects. Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko informed the interlocutors about the current needs of local communities and expressed gratitude for Estonia’s support.
The EstDev representatives outlined the Centre’s main areas of activity, as well as projects already implemented and those planned.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko requested assistance in organizing summer camps in Estonia for children from front-line regions (Sumy, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts), in particular for children who have lost their parents or whose parents are currently defending Ukraine.
The parties exchanged views on preparations for URC-2027 and on the potential participation of Estonian institutions in relevant thematic panels and recovery projects.
A separate segment of the meeting addressed digital solutions for the Government of Ukraine, including within the framework of the Tallinn Mechanism.
Another area of discussion concerned targeted partnerships in the field of medical rehabilitation at specialized centers subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
