The 20th Annual International Christmas Charity Bazaar, organized by the International Women’s Club of Tallinn, took place on 29 November at the T1 Mall in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The event’s official opening ceremony was attended by Riigikogu member Signe Riisalo and the President of the International Women’s Club of Tallinn, Ayşe Akın. In her address, Signe Riisalo called on everyone not to forget the children of Ukraine affected by the war and highlighted the importance of providing assistance to them.
The Ukrainian stand was organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia in cooperation with the Union of Ukrainian Women in Estonia.
The Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia, Volodymyr Boiechko, attended the event together with his wife Yuliia. He expressed his gratitude to Signe Riisalo for her support of Ukraine and its children and presented her with a Ukrainian souvenir - a horse adorned with Petrykivka painting.
The Ukrainian stand showcased Wines From Ukraine, a wide selection of traditional dishes from different regions of Ukraine, as well as traditional Ukrainian jewellery, accessories, and clothing.
All funds raised during the bazaar will be directed to the rehabilitation of Mykhailo Volovykov, a boy from Kherson who was injured during a Russian “Shahed” attack and is currently undergoing long-term rehabilitation. The proceeds from last year’s charity event were also allocated to support his recovery.
