On May 13, 2025, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Maksym Kononenko, delivered a speech at a meeting of the members of the Estonian Retailers Association held in Tallinn. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of the Association, Raul Puusepp, board members, and representatives of Estonia’s leading retail chains.
In his address, Ambassador Kononenko informed the audience about the current economic situation in Ukraine, with focus on GDP growth indicators, energy security, logistical challenges, as well as progress in agricultural exports and international financial support.
Special attention was given to the opportunities for economic cooperation between Ukraine and Estonia, especially in areas such as defense technologies, cybersecurity, agricultural processing, renewable energy, infrastructure, and logistics. Ambassador Kononenko emphasized that Ukraine is open to partnership and is creating institutional conditions to attract investment — notably through the “investment nanny” program, a network of industrial parks, and the NAZOVNI digital platform.
The event was held in a spirit of constructive dialogue. The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to the Estonian business community for its continued support and interest in strengthening cooperation with Ukraine.
