On August 15, 2024, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia, Mr. Maksym Kononenko, met with the Mayor of Tallinn, Mr. Jevgeni Ossinovski. During the meeting, they discussed important issues of Ukrainian-Estonian cooperation, particularly at the interregional level.

 The Ambassador informed the Mayor about the current situation at the front, efforts to restore damaged infrastructure in Ukraine, and also highlighted the humanitarian needs of Ukrainian territories affected by russian aggression, particularly in the energy sector.

 The Ambassador thanked Tallinn for the humanitarian aid already provided to the cities and regions of Ukraine, particularly for the recent donation of five fully equipped ambulances and medical equipment for the needs of Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as the city of Odesa.

They discussed the prospects for Tallinn to implement the already initiated projects to support the municipalities of Ukrainian cities and to launch new ones, taking into account the urgent needs of Ukraine's regions.

 Special attention was given to the project of creating a Ukrainian Park in Tallinn, with the potential involvement of Ukrainian specialists in its implementation, as well as the construction of a monument in Tallinn dedicated to the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.
