On 27 October, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko held a meeting with Estonia’s Minister of Energy and the Environment, Erkki Keldo.

During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Estonia for its consistent support of Ukraine’s energy sector, particularly for the provision of energy equipment and contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, totalling approximately EUR 2.75 million.

The two sides discussed the consequences of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the challenges ahead of the winter season, and opportunities for providing additional assistance, including generators, transformers, and other equipment needed to restore damaged facilities and ensure a stable energy supply.

Particular attention was paid to the protection of critical energy infrastructure, the development of distributed power generation, the deployment of energy storage systems, and the expansion of technological cooperation between Ukrainian and Estonian companies.

Volodymyr Boiechko also highlighted the importance of sharing expertise in the cybersecurity of energy infrastructure and exploring opportunities for practical cooperation in this area.

The parties also discussed prospects for regional energy cooperation within the NB8 framework and preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2027), scheduled to take place in Tallinn in January 2027. In particular, the discussions focused on establishing a dedicated Energy Platform within the conference and engaging international partners in projects aimed at restoring and modernising Ukraine’s energy sector.
