On June 10th, at the Estonia Concert Hall, a grand concert was held as part of the 10th International Music Festival "Odessa Classics 2024," featuring the distinguished contemporary Ukrainian composer Valentyn Sylvestrov. The organizers of this exceptional event are President of "Odessa Classics" Oleksiy Botvinov, the Cultural Partnership Foundation, headed by Meelis Kubits, in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Estonia.

Initiated in 2015 in Odesa with the direct participation of Estonians, "Odessa Classics" is the largest Ukrainian classical music festival. Due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the festival has been held outside its borders, in emigration, for the third consecutive year. This year, concerts will take place in at least five different cities in Europe, one of which traditionally is Tallinn.

The "Odessa Classics 2024" concert in Tallinn is dedicated to Valentin Silvestrov, the best-known contemporary Ukrainian composer. Currently residing in Berlin, he came to Tallinn to attend the concert in person. In addition to the concert, the composer has many meetings planned. He is well-known and loved in Estonia.

The event was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Estonia, Heidi Purga, Estonian parliamentarians, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and other ministries and departments, the diplomatic corps, the Ukrainian diaspora, expert and business circles.

The concert took place in a warm and uplifting atmosphere, conducive to fully immersing oneself in the world of music and harmony.

During the event, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia, Maksym Kononenko, expressed words of gratitude to the composer for his creativity:

«Шановний Валентине Васильовичу!

Like billions of people on Earth, I am honored to be your contemporary.

Like millions of Ukrainians, I am proud to be your compatriot.

Like hundreds of music lovers in this hall, I am happy to enjoy your talent.

Thank you for continuing to share the brilliance of your music with us today!»
