The path to true, lasting, and just peace today lies through the battlefield. To achieve it, Ukraine must win. But victory does not equal peace. Peace will be established only when nuclear, energy, and food security are ensured, when all prisoners and deported persons, primarily children, are exchanged, and when justice is restored: the territorial integrity of Ukraine is beyond any doubt, those responsible for international crimes must be punished, and the damage caused by Russia must be compensated to Ukraine.

In anticipation of victory on the battlefield, we are already working on this with a coalition of friends in support of Ukraine. Together with our Swiss partners, Ukraine is organizing the First Peace Summit for Ukraine on June 15-16 in Switzerland. This summit will: 1) Provide a platform to discuss various visions on the Peace Process; 2) Give a high-political start to prepare a joint peace framework that could restore peace in Ukraine; 3) Jointly define a roadmap on how to involve all concerned parties in the future peace process.

We understand that Russia will never sit down at the negotiating table to speak with Ukraine on equal terms. We have already been down this path. More than 200 rounds of negotiations in various formats have ended in nothing. Russia, as it always has, continues to speak the language of ultimatums, which are unacceptable to Ukrainian society.

However, we understand that even aggressive Russia has its limits. It cannot speak the language of ultimatums to the entire international community. Our task is to transform President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula into an International Peace Formula, gain global support, and bring Russia to the negotiating table on the terms of the international community. The result of the Summit should be a joint plan for the implementation of the Peace Formula.
