On 17 October, in the city of Paldiski, the Pryluky City Council (Chernihiv Region, Ukraine) and Lääne-Harju Municipality (Republic of Estonia) signed an Agreement on international partnership and cooperation.

Dmytro Riabok, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia; a delegation from the city of Pryluky headed by Mayor Olha Popenko; Jaanus Saat, Elder of Lääne-Harju Municipality; as well as representatives of local communities and the North Estonia Regional Hospital took part in the official signing ceremony.

In his remarks, the diplomat thanked the people of Estonia for their consistent support of Ukraine in its fight against Russia’s armed aggression, as well as for their practical assistance to those affected by the war.

The participants also emphasized the importance of interregional partnership as an effective tool for strengthening mutual understanding between nations and developing sustainable ties between communities that contribute to overall European stability.

For its part, the Estonian side provided 50 laptops as humanitarian assistance to support the needs of the local community, particularly in the educational and administrative sectors.

This event marked an important step in developing practical cooperation at the level of local self-government, opening new opportunities for the exchange of experience, the implementation of joint initiatives, and the expansion of contacts in areas of mutual interest.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia sincerely appreciates the local authorities of both countries for their initiative and contribution to strengthening Ukrainian-Estonian relations, promoting good neighbourliness, unity, and peace.
