Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha holds phone call with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna
23 July 2026 16:33

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha: "I had a productive telephone conversation with my Estonian counterpart and friend, Margus Tsahkna.

I informed my colleague about the latest developments on the battlefield, Russia's intensified missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, and its ongoing strikes against our port infrastructure, which pose a threat to freedom of navigation in the Black Sea and global food security.

By attacking civilian shipping and endangering maritime routes, Moscow is once again seeking to weaponize food and undermine global food security. Such actions demand a strong international response and increased pressure on Russia.

Accordingly, we focused on practical measures to enhance security in the Black Sea region and further strengthen Ukraine's air defence.

We also discussed how Estonia's Presidency of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) can contribute to our shared efforts to reinforce Ukraine's security and ensure continued, long-term support for our country.

We are grateful to Estonia for its unwavering support and leadership. Together, we will continue our joint efforts to strengthen Ukraine's security and that of our entire region."
