On March 31, 2025, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia, Maksym Kononenko, took part in a meeting of the Rotary Club Tallinn Global, where he delivered a speech to the club's members on the current economic situation in Ukraine, the challenges faced by the country amid the ongoing war, and the opportunities for bilateral cooperation with Estonian businesses.

Ambassador M.Kononenko emphasized that despite the ongoing aggression by the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian economy is demonstrating remarkable resilience and gradual growth. In 2024, Ukraine's real GDP increased by 3.2%, and the forecast for 2025 anticipates further growth of approximately 2.9%. Ukrainian businesses are adapting to new realities, modernizing logistics routes, expanding export capacity, and maintaining a leading position in the global agricultural market.

The speech also addressed issues of energy security, infrastructure modernization, digital transformation, and the attraction of international financial support. Ambassador M.Kononenko outlined Ukraine's vision as an open and transparent platform for foreign investors, particularly for Estonian companies interested in sustainable, long-term projects in the fields of recovery and development.

Special attention was given to existing tools for supporting foreign businesses in Ukraine, including state investment incentive programs, industrial parks, and modern digital platforms that facilitate international trade.

Following the speech, an engaging Q&A session took place, during which participants discussed practical aspects of launching joint projects, mechanisms for investment protection, and the prospects for Estonian business participation in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.
