On 6 January, Ambassador of Ukraine to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko held a meeting with Director of the Division for Ukraine, Moldova and the South Caucasus at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Gert Antsu.
Volodymyr Boiechko briefed the Estonian side on the recent large-scale Russian attacks against Ukraine, which resulted in civilian casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure.
The parties discussed key issues of the bilateral agenda and upcoming political contacts, reaffirming their mutual interest in maintaining an intensive political dialogue.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude to Estonia for the allocation of EUR 2 million at the end of last year to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, underscoring the importance of this assistance in the context of Russia’s systematic attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
In this regard, the Ambassador also called for further strengthening of defence assistance to Ukraine.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on cooperation between the two countries within international organisations, as well as in the context of Estonia’s upcoming chairmanship of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) in 2026.
