Ukraine invites American and Estonian businesses to join the country’s reconstruction efforts
28 March 2025 09:21

On 27 March 2025, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia, Mr. Maksym Kononenko, held a meeting with the President of the American-Estonian Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Indrek Laul. During the conversation, the parties discussed prospects for the involvement of American and Estonian businesses in the recovery and modernization of Ukraine's economy.

Ambassador М.Kononenko briefed his interlocutor on the current state of Ukraine’s economy amid the full-scale war. Despite ongoing Russian aggression and widespread destruction, Ukraine continues to demonstrate economic resilience and moderate growth. In particular, Ukraine’s GDP grew by 3.2% in 2024, and export volumes—especially of agricultural products and IT services—remain stable.

Special attention was given to key areas of potential cooperation with American and Estonian companies. Priority sectors include the defense industry, cybersecurity and IT, agricultural processing, energy, infrastructure development, and logistics.

Ambassador М.Kononenko also presented a number of state instruments aimed at supporting foreign investors, including:

  • The “Investment Nanny” Programme, which offers tax incentives, assistance with land plots and infrastructure, and assigns a personal manager to each investor;
  • A network of industrial parks, providing tax benefits, modern infrastructure, and advantageous locations near major transport routes and EU borders;
  • The NAZOVNI platform, a digital tool developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to facilitate international trade between Ukrainian exporters and foreign partners, particularly in the IT, agricultural, and energy sectors.

Ambassador Kononenko emphasized: "We are not asking for charity – we are offering partnership. Businesses entering Ukraine today will gain a strategic advantage in the future market of 40 million people."

Ukraine invites American and Estonian companies to consider launching pilot projects, particularly in logistics, construction, industrial manufacturing, and IT, as well as establishing cooperation with Ukrainian enterprises through the NAZOVNI platform.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Estonia stands ready to facilitate contacts with relevant ministries and other stakeholders, and to provide comprehensive support to foreign investors.
