On 27 March 2025, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia, Mr. Maksym Kononenko, held a meeting with the President of the American-Estonian Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Indrek Laul. During the conversation, the parties discussed prospects for the involvement of American and Estonian businesses in the recovery and modernization of Ukraine's economy.
Ambassador М.Kononenko briefed his interlocutor on the current state of Ukraine’s economy amid the full-scale war. Despite ongoing Russian aggression and widespread destruction, Ukraine continues to demonstrate economic resilience and moderate growth. In particular, Ukraine’s GDP grew by 3.2% in 2024, and export volumes—especially of agricultural products and IT services—remain stable.
Special attention was given to key areas of potential cooperation with American and Estonian companies. Priority sectors include the defense industry, cybersecurity and IT, agricultural processing, energy, infrastructure development, and logistics.

Ambassador Kononenko emphasized: "We are not asking for charity – we are offering partnership. Businesses entering Ukraine today will gain a strategic advantage in the future market of 40 million people."
Ukraine invites American and Estonian companies to consider launching pilot projects, particularly in logistics, construction, industrial manufacturing, and IT, as well as establishing cooperation with Ukrainian enterprises through the NAZOVNI platform.
