On 23 April, Ukraine's Ambassador to Estonia Volodymyr Boiechko participated in the 6th International Academic and Practical Internet Conference "Innovative Solutions in Economics, Business, Social Communications and International Relations," organised by the University of Customs and Finance.
The event was held in an online format under the title "Ukraine – Estonia 2026: From Solidarity to Structural Partnership."
At the opening of his address, the Ambassador expressed condolences to the families of those killed as a result of Russia's missile strike on the city of Dnipro and wished a swift recovery to all those injured.
Volodymyr Boiechko briefed conference participants on the key trends in the development of the Ukrainian-Estonian partnership in the context of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. Particular attention was given to Estonia's defence support for Ukraine, defence-industrial cooperation, Estonia's participation in the reconstruction of Zhytomyr Oblast, energy partnership, digital transformation, sanctions policy, and Estonia's support for Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The Ambassador emphasised that over the years of the full-scale war, Ukrainian-Estonian relations had evolved from political solidarity to systematic and mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of security, economics, energy, digitalisation, and European integration.
Following the presentation, the Ambassador took questions from participants. Topics discussed included priority areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Estonia for the coming years, Estonia's role in supporting Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO, and advice for students planning careers in the diplomatic service.
Volodymyr Boiechko thanked the leadership of the University of Customs and Finance for the invitation to participate in the Conference and underscored the importance of providing high-quality training for the new generation of Ukrainian specialists in the fields of international relations, customs affairs, finance, and international trade.
